Letter to our 2023 Donors

Dear Valued Donors and Supporters of Humankind International,

We write to celebrate another year of amazing accomplishment. With your valuable support the students of Humankind Academy and the local community had an enriching year of learning, community and great success. On behalf of the Humankind community in the Dadaab Refugee camps, we would like to express our immense gratitude to each and every one of you.

Humankind Academy remains a success as a result of your generous donations and support. Our most significant highlight for this year is the installation of solar panels to the school. The school is now bright and shiny in the evening! In addition to our young students, adults in the community are now able to attend adult literacy classes offered by community volunteers at the school. Humankind is happy to offer space for free.

This was largely possible from individual donations, as well as a large donation from the Rotary Club of Winnipeg.

“Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom.” – Oprah Winfrey

Our students are excelling in school. Indeed, HKI children are unlocking the world! This year, we learned that several students who were the first batch to graduate from Humankind Academy were some of the top scoring students in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations, the national grade eight examinations. Our students are increasingly recognized as valuable members within the community.

We are elated to have seven new monthly donors this year. Your donation to Humankind is highly valued and spent wisely. We are a 100% volunteer board facilitating early childhood education where simply, there is none. If you are not already, Humankind humbly asks you to consider becoming a monthly donor or increasing your current commitment. Visit here for more information.

We are happy to announce that we will be holding the dinner again this year at Center Culturel Franco Manitoban on Thursday, May 30th, 2024 - please, save the date!

May 2024 be filled with joy, optimism, and continued resilience.
